Super Blue Blood Moon
January 31, 2018
As you may have heard by now, tomorrow morning (January 31, 2018) there will be a "Super Blue Blood Moon" occurring. In 1866 (more than 150 years ago) was the last time we had an eclipse on the second full Moon during a single month.
According to Nasa…
"When the Moon lines up on the opposite side of Earth from the Sun, we see a full moon. The new moon phase occurs when the Moon and the Sun are lined up on the same side of Earth."
We see a Full Moon when it's completely illuminated by the Sun's rays. This occurs every 29.5 days.
Simply means that it's a _second_ full moon in a calendar month. January has been an interesting month with a Full Moon that occurred on January 1, 2018 and another on January 31, 2018, to complete the month.
Whenever the moon is closest to the Earth, its called a supermoon. However, the Moon doesn't make a perfect circle pattern around the earth. Nasa.com states that when a supermoon occurs, the full Moon is closest to the Earth and this makes a supermoon approximately 30% brighter and 14% bigger than other full Moons that occur farther away from the Earth.
When the Moon is in the Earth's shadow, it takes on a reddish tint and this is why it's called a "Blood Moon."

If you're in tune with your intuitive nature, then you most likely feel the energetic shifts of full Moons. Often people can feel more sensitive and in-tune with their deepest feelings during a full Moon. Sometimes people describe feeling a little more emotional than usual.
For many the full moon can also be a time of feeling more motivated and creative.
For myself however, I most often want to go within, rest, listen and be still during full Moon times.
Often a need to go within can appear to people as feeling tired. This need to rest, can be a simple asking from your energy system to be a little more present than you usually are.
In medical Qigong and Chinese medicine the energy of the Moon represents Yin Energy. Yin energy has substance, nurtures, moves inward, is dark, has the quality of earth, is introspective, intuitive, feminine and produces form.
Re-Set & Recharge
Many traditions use the time of the full Moon to nurture their energy and let go of what's not serving their highest well-being.
The time's of the Full Moon are great re-set periods.
Through quiescent energy practices, such as meditation or gentle energy medicine such as Tai Chi and Qigong forms, the Full Moon's energy creates a wonderful vibration that will support and cultivate your alignment during each month.
For a foundational Qigong exercise to support your physical and emotional balance, as well as a great tool to reset your mental focus, Please Go Here and then click on the bar that say's Clearing & Restoring – Practice Video. I've recorded a 21-min. medical Qigong set called "Pulling Down Heaven." Please feel free to practice along with this video as often as you wish. And if you have a friend who will benefit, forward this email along to them too!
A word of caution about doing this Qigong set at night…
"Pulling Down Heaven" is a fantastic set to clear and root your energy and it is wonderful to calm your mind and settle emotional overwhelm. However, some people (after clearing themselves) may feel energized and have difficultly falling asleep. If this happens to you, try putting your feet in warm water (not hot) before going to bed. Or, place a warm (not hot) water bottle (with a cover, or towel over it to protect your skin) on your belly…
These 2 things will help relax your energy so you can fall asleep more easily. Let me know how it goes – leave a comment below!
I often use the nurturing energy of the Full Moon to recharge my crystals.
If you live in a cold, or rainy climate then it's best to find a window and place your crystals inside your home in the path of the Moonlight. Be sure to remove them just before sunrise.
